New Online Donation Service Helps Victims of Fire Related Tragedies
Tacoma, Washington (July 19,2001) – Fire Today Inc., has recently launched FireDonations.com, a FREE online service geared towards helping victims of Fire related tragedies. Fire Donations allows the general public a chance to donate funds online following news of downed firefighters, burn victims, or those left stranded by a tragic fire. The service is FREE to all Fire Departments and can be operational in less than 24 hours.
"Our goal is to keep the fund raising efforts in the hands of firefighters, insuring our best interests always remain a priority" said Darrin Shaw, Founder/Firefighter of Fire Donations. "This service not only helps victims of fire related tragedies, it allows any Fire Department a place to raise money for new equipment, or even charitable events" added Shaw.
Fire Donations has partnered with Donation Depot who's also located in Tacoma, WA, and has been operational since 1999. Together they offer a user-friendly environment, and the safest online tools available when making financial transactions. Donations can be made by credit card, online check, and even through payroll deductions. Once a donation has been received, Fire Donations will send automatic donor correspondences, and thank you letters on behalf of the organization, saving charity staff time and expenses.
Each month Fire Donations will forward all contributions made to the intended charities, either electronically or by check. For future use they have also implemented an automatic tracking system for tax and accounting purposes. 10% of all donations are with held by the organization, yet only 4% will stay within the organization allowing this service to remain operational. The remaining 6% is distributed among banks and sponsors.
Currently Fire Today Inc. has four volunteer employees of whom are firefighters. Their mission is to creatively innovate with existing technologies while offering safe, user-friendly services to the firefighting community.
